Cara Yablonski is a speculative fiction writer living in Calgary, Alberta. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a minor in English, which is how she discovered her love of creative writing.
She has a passion for writing science fiction and is hoping to engage the reader’s emotions as much as their curiosities. Though her projects lean toward science fiction, she also delves into various other genres from time-to-time. And she’ll read just about anything: from chick-lit to dystopian, fantasy, and even historical fiction.
Her Short Story ‘The Late Delivery’ was recently featured in 365 Tomorrows, a flash-fiction science fiction online literary journal. Her first novel, Traverse, is in its final round of editing with querying set for the fall of 2020.
When she’s not writing, you can find her enjoying wholesome Canadian activities such as skipping a curling game, snowboarding in Banff, or making homemade beer.
Cara resides in Calgary’s northwest with her husband and two frenetic cats, and though she typically writes from the comfort of her couch or home office, she loves to take inspiration from the family’s lakeside cabin in Victoria Beach, Manitoba.
Special mention to her cats who keep her company while she writes and who always offer a meow of encouragement.
